Welcome to the IDEA Summit 2021!

In this climate of change, museum professionals can bring greater intentionality to professional development. Efforts to cultivate leadership skillsleader development opportunities, and new organizational models should support diversity, equity, access, and inclusion (DEAI)

POLARIS: The Museum Mentor Network is pleased to present the IDEA Summit 2021. This online event on June 2–3 features keynotes, workshops, panel discussions, and networking. On June 1, there will be a pre-Summit workshop (space is limited) for BIPOC museum professionals. Interactive sessions led by specialists and museum practitioners will explore topics on leadership skills, mentoring partnerships, career advancement, and DEAI values.


  • Explore practices, skills, and issues around leadership development and mentoring 
  • Support self-empowerment and self-advocacy through skill-building tools and resources. 
  • Strengthen the POLARIS community through networking, peer-to-peer learning, and sharing best practices.  

This event is free and open to professionals across the sector–at all stages of their careers–working in and with museums. Event registration is required. Space is limited to 300 capacity. Sessions will be recorded.
